Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,980 – $4,270
• Location: Rockingham, NC 28379 — Rockingham, North Carolina urgent care job (small-town living, outdoor recreation)
• Setting: Urgent Care Center (high-volume urgent care)
• Employment Type: Locum tenens / travel contract — Nurse Practitioner locum tenens
• Duration: 13 weeks (potential to extend)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience in urgent care or acute care settings (urgent care NP experience preferred)
• NP Board Certification required; Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification preferred
• Active NC DEA license/registration
• BLS (AHA) current
• Proficiency with Epic EMR (training provided) — Epic experience helpful
• Comfort treating adults and pediatric patients (6 months+)
• Strong interpersonal, clinical decision-making, and communication skills
• Must pass clinical screening and complete mandatory onboarding/EMR training (scheduled Wednesdays)

Responsibilities

• Act as the sole provider in the urgent care center, supported by a Center Manager, Medical Assistant, and PSA
• Deliver high-volume urgent care services (average 40 patients/day, up to 60)
• Diagnose and manage acute illnesses and injuries for adult and pediatric patients
• Perform common urgent care procedures: incision & drainage, laceration repair, ear irrigation, wound care, suture removal
• Document all patient visits, exam findings, and treatment plans using Epic EMR
• Maintain a patient-centered approach and uphold the center's standard for high-quality, efficient care
• Complete required onboarding and EMR training prior to first solo shift
