Job Details
- Position: Travel Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing
- Location: Hilo, Hawaii
- Setting: Adult Med-Surg / Step Down / Acute Care
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715)
- Schedule: 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
- Duration: 15 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Start Date: 10/19/2026
- Orientation: Orientation provided for each unit as assigned
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required
- Active Hawaii RN license required by start date
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred
- Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
- Comfortable using common unit equipment such as Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
- Ability to float to medical, surgical, and cardiovascular units as needed
- Professional nursing attire and clean scrubs required
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care to adult med-surg and stepdown patients
- Monitor patient condition and respond to changes in acuity using strong clinical judgment
- Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions according to established standards
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes
- Float between assigned medical and surgical units, including cardiovascular care when needed
- Document patient care accurately in the EMR and maintain safe, organized workflows
- Support unit operations during night shifts while delivering reliable, patient-centered care
