Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Morgantown, WV
Seeking an experienced Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel nursing contract in Morgantown, West Virginia. Provide progressive care, telemetry monitoring, and compassionate nursing support to medically complex cardiac and medical-surgical patients while enjoying a welcoming college-town atmosphere and scenic Appalachian surroundings.
Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090–$2,200
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: October 11, 2026
- Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
- Shift: Day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Required as scheduled
- Unit: 34-bed acute-care cardiac stepdown and medical-surgical unit
- Patient Population: Cardiac and medical-surgical progressive care patients
- Charting: EPIC
- Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in West Virginia
- At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience; cardiac stepdown, progressive care, telemetry, cardiac, or medical-surgical nursing experience is strongly preferred
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to interpret telemetry strips and recognize clinically significant cardiac rhythms
- Experience caring for patients requiring close monitoring and titratable infusions
- Ability to work scheduled weekends and holidays
- COVID-19 vaccination documentation or an approved exemption, as applicable
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to cardiac stepdown, progressive care, and medical-surgical patients
- Assess patients, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Continuously monitor telemetry and accurately interpret and document cardiac rhythms
- Administer medications and manage titratable drips according to provider orders and facility protocols
- Monitor patients with advanced respiratory support needs and collaborate with the in-house respiratory therapy team
- Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Coordinate patient care with nursing assistants, transport staff, providers, and other healthcare professionals
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in EPIC
- Float to other areas as needed to support patient care and unit operations
