Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050-$2,160
- Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
- Location: Portland, OR 97225
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Schedule: 36 hours per week; weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 28, 2026
- On-Call: Not required
- Float: May float within similar units based on skill set
Job Requirements
- Active RN license with compact license in hand at submission
- At least 1 year of nursing experience required; 2 years of experience in stepdown nursing, IMCU, cardiac telemetry, or similar higher-acuity settings preferred
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with cardiac and respiratory patients, including tracheostomy and ventilator care
- Comfort managing cardiac drips, titrated infusions, insulin drips, and dysrhythmias
- Skilled in central line and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience with Epic charting preferred
- Must be flexible to work weekends and assist with holiday coverage as needed
- Reliable transportation required
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac and respiratory needs
- Monitor, assess, and stabilize intermediate acuity patients in a fast-paced cardiac stepdown environment
- Administer medications and therapies, including titrated drips and insulin infusions, per protocol
- Support ventilated and tracheostomy patients with safe, attentive bedside nursing care
- Interpret dysrhythmias and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver safe, efficient, patient-centered care
- Float to comparable units when needed to support patient care demands
