Travel Nursing Job Details
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Location: Fairmont, West Virginia
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,180–$2,290 per week
- Start Date: November 30, 2026
- End Date: March 1, 2027
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Schedule: Three shifts per week; weekends as scheduled, including three weekend shifts per four-week schedule
- Holiday Requirement: Rotating holiday coverage, day or evening
- Unit: 20-bed cardiac stepdown/progressive care and medical-surgical unit
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:3 for stepdown patients and 1:5–6 for floor patients
- Charting: EPIC electronic health record (EHR)
- Call and Floating: No call or standby requirement; no floating required
- Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in West Virginia
- Cardiac stepdown, progressive care, telemetry, or acute-care nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association
- Demonstrated experience caring for telemetry patients and managing titratable medication infusions
- Comfort with EPIC electronic documentation and electronic health records
- Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, and clinical judgment skills
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Registered Nurse care to patients in a cardiac stepdown, progressive care, and medical-surgical setting
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, assess for changes in patient condition, and promptly escalate concerns
- Care for patients with respiratory conditions, weakness, urinary tract infections, acute kidney injury, and chest pain
- Safely administer and titrate infusions such as heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone according to orders and facility protocols
- Complete focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, medication administration, care planning, and accurate EPIC documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, nursing assistants, monitor technicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Provide patient and family education while supporting safe transitions of care and discharge planning
