Qualifications & Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or current Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years recent Telemetry / PCU / stepdown nursing experience
• EPIC charting experience preferred; prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Must pass Telemetry List B and Relias competency exams (up to 2 attempts allowed)
• Competent in tracheostomy (trach) care and respiratory management
• Must reside outside an 80-mile local radius for travel eligibility

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality cardiac and telemetry nursing care with a typical patient ratio of 1:4 in the stepdown unit
• Continuous cardiac monitoring, assessment, and timely response to changes in patient condition
• Manage central lines, tracheostomies, and advanced respiratory needs
• Administer and titrate IV drips including cardiac medications, insulin, and heparin infusions
• Perform IV starts, peripheral and arterial blood draws, and other skilled nursing procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, case management) to ensure safe transitions of care
• Document accurately in EPIC (or hospital charting system) and comply with hospital policies and telemetry protocols
