Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac unit or telemetry setting
- Master of Science degree or Nurse Practitioner certification recognized by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
- Current RN licensure in the State of Texas
- Texas Board recognition as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Ability to obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary care team
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision for patients receiving cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation
- Respond promptly to adverse events during rehabilitation services
- Collaborate with medical directors to evaluate patient needs and develop care plans
- Coordinate care with exercise physiologists, rehabilitation technicians, and respiratory therapists
- Develop, monitor, and document individualized rehabilitation services in compliance with regulatory standards
- Perform medical assessments, review patient progress, and consult with physicians regarding changes in condition
- Support patient education, counseling, and psychosocial needs throughout the rehabilitation process
- Assist with CMS compliance and quality-focused program operations
- Use cardiac telemetry monitoring and implement ACLS protocols when necessary
