Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac unit or telemetry setting
  • Master of Science degree or Nurse Practitioner certification recognized by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
  • Current RN licensure in the State of Texas
  • Texas Board recognition as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Ability to obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary care team

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision for patients receiving cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation
  • Respond promptly to adverse events during rehabilitation services
  • Collaborate with medical directors to evaluate patient needs and develop care plans
  • Coordinate care with exercise physiologists, rehabilitation technicians, and respiratory therapists
  • Develop, monitor, and document individualized rehabilitation services in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Perform medical assessments, review patient progress, and consult with physicians regarding changes in condition
  • Support patient education, counseling, and psychosocial needs throughout the rehabilitation process
  • Assist with CMS compliance and quality-focused program operations
  • Use cardiac telemetry monitoring and implement ACLS protocols when necessary
