- Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Coverage: 4 days per month with call coverage from 3:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $5,540 - $5,930
- Patient Volume: 10-15 CVICU / step-down patients per day, plus 1-2 surgeries
- Charting System: Cerner
- Population: Adults and geriatrics
Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of recent cardiothoracic surgery experience
- Proficiency with EVH required
- Board certification or certification eligibility as a Nurse Practitioner
- Active Arizona NP license or eligibility for licensure
- ACLS and BLS certification required
- DEA required
- Experience with cardiothoracic surgery procedures and inpatient post-op care
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage a fast-paced surgical service
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient cardiothoracic surgery coverage for adult and geriatric patients
- Round on CVICU and step-down patients and support daily surgical care
- Assist with 1-2 surgeries as needed
- Perform or support procedures including temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
- Collaborate closely with the surgeon and care team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
- Participate in call coverage and respond to clinical needs after hours
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner
- Deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care in a busy surgical environment
