Job Details
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Location: Portsmouth, Virginia
- Start Date: 8/31/2026
- End Date: 11/30/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days, 5 x 8-hour shifts
- Call Requirement: At least 14 days of call per month, including weekends as needed
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,750 - $2,890
- Work Environment: Cardiac catheterization lab with diagnostic, interventional, vascular, EP, and hybrid procedures
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
- At least 2 years of recent Cath Lab RN experience required
- Experience in telemetry, critical care, emergency room, or operating room nursing is strongly valued
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred at hire and required within 6 months
- Ability to respond to STEMI call backs within 30 minutes
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
- Experience with electrophysiology (EP) cases is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide coordinated, patient-centered nursing care in the cardiac cath lab
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans
- Assist as scrub nurse and circulator for cardiac and vascular procedures
- Support diagnostic and interventional cases, including STEMI, TAVR, PFO closure, Watchman, balloon pump, Impella, IVUS, iFR/FFR, atherectomy, and stenting procedures
- Monitor patients closely during procedures and respond quickly to changing clinical conditions
- Administer medications safely and in accordance with policy and scope of practice
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, efficient care
- Participate in on-call coverage for urgent and emergency procedures
