Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in South Carolina or a compact-state license in hand at the time of submission
- At least 1 year of professional nursing experience
- Previous oncology nursing or outpatient clinic experience preferred
- ONS certification required; candidates may work toward obtaining certification after starting
- Epic electronic medical record experience required
- Current COVID-19 vaccination required, with medical and religious exemptions considered according to applicable requirements
- References may be pending at the time of submission
- Successful work history and education verification required
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not eligible
Outpatient Oncology Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients in an outpatient oncology clinic
- Assess patients, monitor clinical status, and communicate changes to the oncology care team
- Support physicians and interdisciplinary staff during daily clinic operations
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, symptom management, and follow-up care
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in Epic
- Coordinate care, follow prescribed treatment protocols, and promote continuity throughout the patient experience
- Maintain a safe, organized, and compassionate environment for oncology patients
