Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required (compact license not accepted unless valid in IL)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN clinical experience required; 2 years preferred (Critical Care/Cardiac Care experience strongly preferred)
- Strong computer and EMR navigation skills (experience with electronic medical records preferred)
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, work independently, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication, patient education, and customer service skills
Primary Responsibilities (Clinic RN / Ambulatory Care)
- Perform accurate and complete patient assessments including pain, psychosocial, and focused specialty evaluations
- Coordinate and ensure completion of interdisciplinary screenings and specialty assessments
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, aftercare, and follow-up instructions
- Prepare and administer medications per facility policy and nursing standards; ensure safe medication reconciliation
- Assist physicians with specialty procedures and operate specialty equipment as required
- Monitor cardiac status, identify dysrhythmias, and initiate appropriate treatment per protocol
- Document patient medical history, pain assessment, medications, and interventions accurately in the EMR
- Maintain patient safety, adhere to hand-off communication protocols, and participate in performance improvement activities
- Cross-train across consulting areas to provide coverage and continuity of care
