Remote ProFee Surgical Coder Job – Vascular Surgery Coding
We are seeking an experienced ProFee Surgical Coder with vascular surgery coding expertise for a 26-week remote healthcare opportunity starting June 29, 2026. Job Requirements
- Professional fee surgical coding experience strongly preferred
- Experience with vascular surgery coding preferred
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding compliance standards
- Ability to review documentation thoroughly and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes
- Experience working with outpatient, professional fee, or related coding workflows preferred
- Must hold at least one of the following certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, COC, CIC, or CIRCC
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with coding edits and documentation systems
- Excellent communication skills for provider queries, education, and issue resolution
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret medical record documentation to assign accurate diagnosis, procedure, and professional fee codes
- Review charges and coding in the applicable documentation systems to support accurate billing outcomes
- Apply ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines to ensure compliant code assignment
- Communicate with providers regarding missing or unclear documentation and provide coding guidance when appropriate
- Reconcile billing issues by identifying rejected or inaccurate charges and making necessary corrections
- Collaborate with revenue cycle and related departments to support timely and accurate coding workflows
- Review and edit charges to help maintain coding quality and compliance
- Support accurate abstraction and entry of required coding data
