Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Location: Asheville, North Carolina (28801) — Asheville nursing jobs / North Carolina travel nurse jobs
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM), 36 hours/week, alternating weekends
• Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), 16 beds — Cardiac ICU, critical care RN role
• Travelers float: Float to all areas as needed

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required (critical care or CVICU experience preferred)
• Experience with titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, paralytics, ventilator management, tracheostomies, and telemetry interpretation
• Understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup/interpretation
• Familiarity with transvenous pacing, cardioversion, TEE, chest tube insertion and maintenance
• CCRN certification, IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience appreciated
• Ability to work alternating weekends and float as needed

Core Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the CVICU with patient ratios typically 2:1 or 1:1 (occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and hemodynamic data; manage ventilators and deliver critical medications
• Perform and assist with advanced procedures including cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis
• Utilize Cerner for accurate, timely documentation and charting
• Collaborate with a team of experienced RNs in a fast-paced CVICU (no HUC or PCT support)
• Adhere to hospital dress code: all navy or navy and white scrubs
