Job Requirements — Emergency Physician Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with completion of Emergency Medicine residency or equivalent emergency medicine experience
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM preferred; non-ABEM with strong EM experience considered)
• Eligible for medical licensure in Kentucky (KY license or ability to obtain temporary licensure)
• Clean credentialing file preferred for expedited temporary privileges
• Case logs required for credentialing

Responsibilities — Emergency Department (ED) Duties

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to a diverse patient population in a busy ED setting (average census: 89 patients per day)
• Perform standard emergency department procedures and acute care interventions
• Collaborate closely with nursing staff and advanced practice providers (APPs) to deliver high-quality patient care
• Participate in a 2-day orientation and shadowing period prior to independent shifts to ensure smooth integration into the ED team
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all patient encounters in the electronic medical record
• Coordinate outpatient follow-up care and referrals as needed for continuity of care
