  • Assignment Type: Travel assignment / 13-week travel nurse contract
  • Unit: Endoscopy / GI Endoscopy Suite
  • Start Date: April 6, 2026
  • End Date: July 6, 2026
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day shift, 8-hour shifts (07:00 - 15:00)
  • Hours per Week: 40 hours per week
  • Shifts per Week: 5 shifts per week (8 hours each)

Qualifications / Job Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered RN license (Virginia or multistate/compact where applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Endoscopy, GI, or procedural nursing experience (preferred)
  • BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
  • Strong clinical assessment, monitoring, and critical thinking skills in procedural settings
  • Excellent communication, patient education, and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced endoscopy environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic and GI procedures
  • Perform pre-procedure assessment and prepare patients for endoscopy procedures
  • Monitor patient status before, during, and after procedures; recognize and intervene for adverse reactions
  • Assist physicians and the clinical team during endoscopic procedures (e.g., colonoscopy, upper endoscopy)
  • Administer medications and monitor for effects and complications
  • Provide clear patient and family education on procedure preparation and post-procedure care
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to infection control and safety protocols
  • Contribute to a safe, sterile environment in the Endoscopy/GI suite
