Job Details
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- On Call: 1-2 days per week and 1 weekend per month
- Dress Code: Royal Blue Scrubs
- EMR: Meditech experience preferred
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (TX license preferred)
- BCLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy experience (GI and Pulmonology experience preferred)
- If no endoscopy experience, strong PACU/perioperative nursing background required
- Outgoing, team-oriented, and able to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Core Responsibilities (Endoscopy / PACU)
- Provide direct patient care during endoscopic procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, bronchoscopy, and robotic bronchoscopic procedures.
- Monitor patients in Preop and PACU areas; maintain safe patient ratios (typically 1:1 for procedures, 1:2 in PACU).
- Perform pre-procedure assessments, intra-procedure monitoring, sedation support, and post-procedure recovery care.
- Float to PACU and Preop as needed and participate in on-call rotation per schedule.
- Document accurately and timely in Meditech EMR (or equivalent) and communicate findings with the team.
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and endoscopy suite best practices.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience with Meditech EMR
- Familiarity with GI endoscopy and pulmonology instrumentation and workflows
- Strong patient assessment, IV sedation monitoring, and emergency response skills
