Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana 46845
- Healthcare Setting: Acute care emergency department and verified Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- End Date: January 18, 2027
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 5:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980–$2,080
- Department: 40-room Emergency Department with monitored rooms and dedicated resuscitation bays
- Patient Assignment: Approximately 1 nurse to 4 patients
- Documentation and Medication Systems: EPIC and Pyxis
- Orientation: Eight-hour days during the first two weeks; mandatory attendance is required for all seven orientation days
- Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs
Emergency Room RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience
- Current Indiana or compact Registered Nurse (RN) license
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- American Heart Association ACLS certification
- American Heart Association PALS certification
- TNCC or ATCN certification
- NIHSS certification strongly preferred
- Strong emergency nursing assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate fully in the required orientation program
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and traumatic conditions
- Rapidly assess, triage, stabilize, and monitor patients based on acuity and changing clinical needs
- Care for high-acuity patients in resuscitation bays and monitored treatment areas
- Administer medications and treatments safely using established clinical protocols and Pyxis medication systems
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team through a team-nursing model to support efficient patient flow
- Document assessments, interventions, reassessments, and patient responses accurately in EPIC
- Recognize and respond promptly to clinical deterioration, trauma, and other emergency conditions
- Educate patients and families while providing compassionate, professional care throughout the emergency visit
