Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 3 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
- Experience in a Critical Access Hospital or community hospital setting preferred
- Previous experience boarding patients in the Emergency Room
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
- TNCC and ENPC preferred
- Recent Cerner experience required
- Ability to float to Med-Surg and CCU as needed
- Experience starting IVs, administering medications, and interpreting EKG rhythms
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient volumes, acuity levels, and workflow demands
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric
- Care for patients presenting with abdominal pain, chest pain, altered mental status, stroke symptoms, shortness of breath, and COVID-related concerns
- Board patients in the ED and support patient flow throughout the department
- Float to Med-Surg and CCU to help cover staffing needs when required
- Assess, monitor, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition in a fast-paced emergency department
- Start IVs, administer medications, and support diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and assist with telemetry monitoring
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
- Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and follow department workflows and procedures
- Work every third weekend and remain flexible for holiday coverage when needed
