• Charting System: Meditech; Epic experience strongly preferred
• Setting: High-acuity, high-volume Emergency Department
• Additional Notes: Free parking available; weekend availability is required and may include every-other-weekend or more depending on unit needs

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1.5 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required; 2 years preferred
• Current RN license in hand; compact license must be active at submission if applicable
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• TNCC and CEN or CPN preferred
• Stroke experience is required
• Emergency Department travel nurse experience required
• Experience caring for patients of all ages preferred, including adult and pediatric populations
• Ability to float to like units, including tele hold and ICU hold as needed
• Must be available for weekend coverage and holidays as scheduled
• Strong IV skills, triage experience, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency medication administration skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care in a busy Emergency Department
• Assess, triage, and stabilize patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions
• Care for patients with respiratory distress, stroke symptoms, abdominal pain, cardiac concerns, sepsis, and other emergent needs
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and support procedural sedation monitoring as appropriate
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, obtain EKGs, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Assist with bedside procedures, wound care, splinting, and IV initiation/maintenance
• Collaborate with physicians, rapid response teams, radiology, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and other support services
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit protocols in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Float between similar units when needed to support patient care needs
