Emergency Department Travel RN Opportunity

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive care in a 31-bed Emergency Department with five resuscitation bays and an average daily volume of more than 100 patients. This travel RN contract is ideal for an experienced emergency nurse who is confident in trauma nursing, rapid assessment, resuscitation, and pediatric emergency care. Greenbrae offers easy access to Northern California’s natural beauty, vibrant communities, and the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,540–$2,670
  • Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
  • Location: Greenbrae, California, in Marin County
  • Start Date: October 26, 2026
  • End Date: January 25, 2027
  • Schedule: Approximately three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Shift: Evening and overnight coverage, with start times varying between 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Call: No call required
  • Emergency Department: 31 beds, five resuscitation bays, and 100+ average daily patients
  • Patient Population: Approximately 15% pediatric patients

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in California
  • At least 1 year of Emergency Department or Emergency Room nursing experience; trauma experience required
  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience caring for pediatric patients
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification preferred
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and begin the assignment on or near the requested start date

Emergency Room RN Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid assessments, triage, reassessments, and evidence-based nursing interventions for emergency patients.
  • Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for trauma, cardiac, stroke, medical, surgical, and pediatric emergencies.
  • Support resuscitation efforts and collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team during high-acuity cases.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly to urgent and life-threatening situations.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient response.
  • Deliver compassionate, age-appropriate care and education to patients and their families.
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and patient transitions of care.
  • Contribute to a collaborative Emergency Department environment focused on patient safety and exceptional outcomes.
