Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Hilo, Hawaii

Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Hilo, Hawaii
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
- Start Date: December 14, 2026
- End Date: March 15, 2027
- Schedule: Days; three 12-hour shifts per week
- Hours: 36 hours per week; hours are not guaranteed
- Healthcare Setting: 28-bed Emergency Department with four trauma bays, two behavioral health rooms, and 22 cardiac-monitor rooms
- Pre-Assignment Requirement: Arrive in Hilo on the Thursday before the assignment start date for an employee health appointment on Friday
Emergency Room RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the State of Hawaii by the start of the assignment
- At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Procedural Sedation, TMCC, and EMPC certifications preferred
- Nurses who do not currently hold an active Hawaii RN license must apply upon acceptance and secure the license before the assignment begins
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care to emergency department patients across a range of acuity levels
- Rapidly assess, prioritize, and respond to changing patient conditions in a high-volume emergency care environment
- Monitor patients requiring cardiac observation and recognize changes in clinical status
- Support care delivery in trauma, behavioral health, and general emergency treatment areas
- Administer medications and treatments, assist with emergency procedures, and evaluate patient responses
- Collaborate closely with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote timely patient care and efficient patient throughput
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow applicable safety, quality, and emergency nursing standards
