Job Details

- Contract Length: 16 weeks, with potential to extend up to 20 weeks
- Shift: Night shift, 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Schedule: 3x12 night schedule with a 36/48-hour option; every other weekend required
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 - $2,110
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Setting: Busy community hospital Emergency Department
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Patient Volume: Approximately 130 visits per day
Job Requirements
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience preferred; 1 year may be considered with strong ER background
- Previous community hospital experience required
- Ability to care for patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Strong experience with fast-paced, high-acuity emergency care
- Comfortable floating within specialty and working rotating weekends and holidays as scheduled
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in a busy Emergency Department
- Assess, triage, and prioritize patients with a wide variety of diagnoses and acuity levels
- Administer medications, monitor responses, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Perform emergency interventions and support procedures such as IV starts, blood product administration, and cardiac monitoring
- Care for patients with respiratory distress, stroke symptoms, trauma, behavioral health needs, and other acute conditions
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support efficient patient flow
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold unit standards for patient safety and quality care
- Adapt to a fast-moving environment while providing compassionate, patient-centered care
