Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) Travel Assignment in Lynchburg, Virginia
Travel to Lynchburg, Virginia for a fast-paced Emergency Room Registered Nurse opportunity in a busy emergency department. This 20-week travel nursing assignment offers an excellent chance to grow your acute care skills while supporting high-quality patient care in Central Virginia.

- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Assignment Length: 20 weeks
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- End Date: March 6, 2027
- Orientation: Held every other Monday
- Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required; at least one major holiday assignment required
- Location: Lynchburg, Virginia — a welcoming Central Virginia community with scenic surroundings, outdoor recreation, parks, trails, and local amenities
Job Requirements
- Active Virginia RN license or compact RN license at time of submission
- Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience in a similar-size ED
- Trauma Level I or II experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- Trauma certification preferred/required as outlined in the posting (ATCN, TNCC, or ATLC)
- CPI certification required before start
- Prior Cerner experience strongly preferred
- All requested time off must be submitted with the application packet
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Assess, triage, and prioritize patient needs quickly and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical support staff to support safe patient flow
- Deliver skilled care during night shifts and respond to high-acuity emergency situations
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow established emergency department protocols
- Work every other weekend and designated holiday shifts as required
