Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in good standing
- At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience
- Current RN certification and credentials required for clinical practice
- Ability to provide safe, effective patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting
- Strong patient assessment, triage, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
- Availability to work scheduled 12-hour night shifts throughout the travel nursing assignment
Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Assess, triage, and prioritize patients presenting with emergent and urgent medical conditions
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to a diverse Emergency Department patient population
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and respond promptly to clinical needs
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established protocols
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to support timely evaluation and treatment
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and discharge or admission planning accurately
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and discharge instructions
- Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered environment during high-volume night shifts
