Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Albany, Georgia

Travel RN Job Details

- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; typically three shifts per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
- Orientation: Two unit-specific orientation shifts
- Patient Volume: Approximately 180–200 emergency visits per day
- Typical Assignment: Approximately 1 nurse to 4 patients

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and eligibility to practice in Georgia
- At least 5 years of emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
- At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment
- Recent MEDITECH experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and ASLS or NIHSS
- Ability to provide emergency nursing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Ability to complete required ORT during the first week; completion may not roll over into a subsequent week unless approved by emergency department leadership before the start date
- Commitment to following the established call-out process and providing timely notification when unable to report for a scheduled shift
- Ability to wear Caribbean Blue scrubs and follow unit-specific operational procedures, including automatic meal-break deductions
Emergency Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients ranging from pediatrics through geriatrics.
- Rapidly assess, triage, monitor, and stabilize patients with medical, surgical, behavioral health, trauma, neurological, orthopedic, and stroke-related conditions.
- Manage patients in a high-volume emergency department, including those requiring behavioral health precautions and seclusion-area support.
- Perform nursing assessments, medication administration, IV starts, laboratory draws, treatments, reassessments, and accurate documentation in MEDITECH.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, paramedics, nurse aides, monitors, and support staff.
- Provide care for ventilated and critically ill patients while coordinating with the 24-hour respiratory therapy team.
- Support stroke and trauma care processes, including timely escalation and coordination of transfers when indicated.
- Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, and professional standards throughout each travel nursing assignment.
- Complete all required orientation and ORT activities during the designated first week and communicate promptly through the required call-out process when necessary.
