Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Farmville, VA

- Assignment Length: 13 weeks, ending February 13, 2027
- Schedule: Approximately 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Orientation: Orientation dates are scheduled every other Monday, including November 2, November 16, and November 30, 2026
- Holiday Requirement: Must work at least one major holiday, including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day
- Float Requirement: No floating required
Emergency Room RN Job Requirements
- Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of recent emergency room or emergency department nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Active Virginia RN license or compact RN license
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
- Current trauma certification, such as TNCC, ATCN, or an accepted equivalent
- ENPC certification preferred
- Cerner experience preferred
- Availability to work the designated 12-hour night schedule
Emergency Department Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting to the emergency department
- Perform rapid assessments, prioritize care, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments while following established emergency nursing protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support timely diagnosis and treatment
- Care for patients with a wide range of urgent and emergent medical conditions and injuries
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
- Promote patient safety, effective communication, and compassionate care throughout the emergency visit
