Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Location: Galesburg, Illinois (Galesburg, IL 61401)
• Role: Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse / Emergency Department (ED) RN
• Setting: Level II Trauma Center, Emergency Department (11 rooms, 2 trauma rooms, 3 fast track)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour evenings (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Start Date: April 27, 2026

Required Qualifications (Emergency Nursing / Travel Nursing)

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or proof of application (compact/reciprocity as applicable)
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room / Emergency Department nursing experience
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred (electronic health record experience helpful for travel RN roles)
• Ability to work every other weekend and holiday
• Must pass a comprehensive drug screen (drug-free campus)

Key Responsibilities (ER RN / Trauma Nursing)

• Provide high-quality emergency care to patients across all ESI levels in a busy ED (average 58 patients/day)
• Respond to and manage trauma cases in a Level II Trauma Center; participate in trauma team activation and rapid response
• Triage, assess, and implement evidence-based interventions for medical and surgical emergencies
• Collaborate closely with in-house physicians, mid-level providers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Utilize Phillips monitors and interpret telemetry strips independently (no monitor techs)
• Participate in unit orientation and acclimation shifts to ensure smooth onboarding as a travel nurse
• Adhere to hospital policies and dress code (any color scrubs); assist with codes or rapid response as needed
