Travel Nursing Job Details
- Position: Travel Emergency Room (ER) / Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Laurinburg, NC 28352 (On-Site) – North Carolina travel nurse assignment

- Duration: 13 weeks (contract)
- Shift: Night 3x12 (19:00–07:00)
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
- Charting System/EMR: Epic
- Patient Ratio: 1:4 (days/nights/weekends)
- Unit Snapshot: 34 rooms; ~84 daily census; neonates through geriatrics
- Interdisciplinary Support: Radiology, Unit Secretary
- Orientation: 36 hours
Pay Information
- Pay: Compensation details will be shared during the submission/offer process.
ER RN Job Requirements
- License: Active North Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (required)
- Experience: Travelers with 1+ year of recent ER/ED RN experience considered; 3+ years preferred; facility may request up to 5 years per guidelines
- Community Hospital Experience: Required
- EMR Experience: Epic experience required (include most recent Epic facility)
- Certifications (Required): BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC
- Certifications (Preferred): CPI
- Additional Preferred Certification: PALS
- Professional References: Two references from the past two years (supervisory capacity preferred)
- Submission Note: Include all requested time off at time of submission
Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Perform rapid assessment, triage, and prioritization for emergent/urgent presentations across all age groups
- Provide evidence-based emergency nursing care for high-acuity conditions (stroke/CVA, sepsis, respiratory distress, overdose, behavioral health crises)
- Initiate and manage IV therapy; administer emergency medications; manage continuous infusions (sedation, paralytics, vasopressors) per protocol
- Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs; recognize and respond to dysrhythmias
- Support procedural sedation administration/monitoring and airway/ventilated patient care (BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, intubation support)
- Deliver trauma-informed, safety-focused care including de-escalation, psychiatric holds, and care of suicidal/violent patients
- Maintain isolation precautions/PPE and follow infection prevention standards
- Document clearly and efficiently in Epic; coordinate care with providers and interdisciplinary teams to support safe transitions of care
- Float within the hospital as needed based on patient care demands
