Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Nurse Job in Richmond, VA

Join a fast-paced Emergency Department as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) in Richmond, Virginia. This high-acuity ED nursing opportunity offers the chance to work with a collaborative care team serving patients across the lifespan in a community-focused healthcare setting.

Job Details

  • Setting: Emergency Department (ED)
  • Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nursing Job
  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
  • Hours Per Week: 36
  • Shift Duration: 12 hours
  • Shifts Per Week: Approximately 3
  • Contract Length: 16 weeks
  • Start Date: 8/31/2026
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910-$2,010
  • Location: Richmond, VA 23226
  • Additional Schedule Notes: Every other weekend and major holiday coverage required

Job Requirements

  • Current RN license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
  • Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience required
  • Experience with conscious sedation required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • CPI or de-escalation training required
  • EKG exam must be passed at orientation
  • EPIC experience preferred
  • Recent critical care experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity Emergency Department environment
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients of all ages in a busy Emergency Department
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient responses
  • Administer medications safely and in accordance with clinical standards and hospital policies
  • Prioritize care for patients with urgent, emergent, or life-threatening conditions
  • Support triage, stabilization, resuscitation, and crisis intervention as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians, ED technicians, respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, and other healthcare team members
  • Advocate for patient safety, quality improvement, and compassionate patient care
  • Respond calmly and efficiently to changing patient needs in a dynamic emergency nursing environment
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support continuity of care across departments
