Emergency Department Travel Nurse RN – Westminster, Maryland
Bring your emergency nursing expertise to a fast-paced Emergency Department in Westminster, Maryland. This 14-week travel nursing contract serves patients across the lifespan, from neonates and children to adults and older adults. The department has approximately 36 rooms and an average of 120 patient visits per day. Westminster pairs a welcoming historic downtown and small-city charm with nearby outdoor recreation and access to the greater Baltimore region.
Emergency Department RN Job Details
- Location: Westminster, Maryland (MD)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
- Contract: 14 weeks, starting December 1, 2026
- Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week; 36 hours per week
- Weekend Commitment: Six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Charting System: Cerner
Travel Nurse RN Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) RN experience, including combined adult and pediatric emergency care
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Current Maryland RN license or compact RN license at submission
- Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
- Strong EKG interpretation skills and successful completion of the required advanced dysrhythmia exam and onsite pass/fail assessment
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record charting
- Ability to care for patients with varied emergency needs, including pediatric, behavioral health, respiratory, cardiac, and neurologic emergencies
- Community hospital, CPI, and TNCC experience preferred
Emergency Department RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, timely emergency care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Perform triage, focused assessments, and ongoing monitoring; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and support care for STEMI and stroke patients
- Manage IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, emergency medications, vasopressors, and procedural sedation
- Assist with intubation and provide care for ventilated patients, including BiPAP/CPAP support and chest tube management
- Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, trauma, overdose, behavioral health crises, and other urgent conditions
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team and float within the hospital, within your scope of practice, as needed
