Job Requirements — CRNA Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of clinical CRNA experience (no new graduates) — prior locum tenens or hospital-based anesthesia experience preferred
  • Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program
  • Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists

Responsibilities — CRNA / Nurse Anesthetist Duties

  • Perform comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain/verify informed consent
  • Discuss anesthetic plans, options, and risks with patients and families — strong patient education and communication skills
  • Induce, maintain, and emerge patients from anesthesia across a broad case mix
  • Continuously monitor physiologic status and provide clinical interventions as needed — critical thinking in perioperative care
  • Collaborate closely with supervising physicians, perioperative nurses, surgeons, and support staff — team-based anesthesia care
  • Document anesthesia care accurately and timely in Epic and follow facility protocols and quality standards
