• Position: Locum Tenens CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) — locum tenens anesthesia provider
• Location: Newport News, VA 23602 — Coastal Virginia / Hampton Roads; ideal for CRNA jobs in Newport News, Virginia
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (contract)
• Start Date: February 1, 2026
• End Date: December 31, 2026 (48 weeks)
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,020 – $6,350
• Case Mix: General, neuro, ortho, OB, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, endoscopy — varied perioperative anesthesia cases
• Supervision: MD supervision (1 MD : 4 CRNAs)
• Documentation / EHR: Epic electronic health record (Epic EHR)

Job Requirements — CRNA Qualifications

• At least 1 year of clinical CRNA experience (no new graduates) — prior locum tenens or hospital-based anesthesia experience preferred
• Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program
• Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists

Responsibilities — CRNA / Nurse Anesthetist Duties

• Perform comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain/verify informed consent
• Discuss anesthetic plans, options, and risks with patients and families — strong patient education and communication skills
• Induce, maintain, and emerge patients from anesthesia across a broad case mix
• Continuously monitor physiologic status and provide clinical interventions as needed — critical thinking in perioperative care
• Collaborate closely with supervising physicians, perioperative nurses, surgeons, and support staff — team-based anesthesia care
• Document anesthesia care accurately and timely in Epic and follow facility protocols and quality standards
