Job Description

Healthcare Recruiter

If you're a healthcare recruiter who loves building relationships, solving staffing challenges, and making a direct impact on patient care, this is the opportunity you've been looking for.

A respected community-based health network is seeking an experienced Healthcare Recruiter to join its HR team.  This is more than a recruiting role - it's an opportunity to become a trusted partner to clinical leaders and play an essential role in ensuring the hospital has the talented professionals needed to provide exceptional care to the community.

Unlike many recruiting positions, this role is 100% focused on talent acquisition. You won't be responsible for HR generalist duties, employee relations, career fairs, or community outreach events. Your focus will be identifying, engaging, and hiring outstanding healthcare professionals.

If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, thrive on building strong partnerships, and take pride in finding creative solutions to difficult searches, you'll fit right in.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Join a mission-driven, community hospital where your work has a visible impact on patient care.
  • Be part of a collaborative Human Resources team led by supportive leadership that values partnership, communication, and transparency.
  • Focus exclusively on recruiting—no additional HR responsibilities.
  • Recruit for a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical healthcare positions, keeping your work interesting and challenging.
  • Gain exposure to a high-volume healthcare environment where you'll continuously develop your recruiting expertise.

What You'll Do

You'll partner closely with hiring managers to attract and hire exceptional healthcare talent across a wide variety of departments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute effective recruiting strategies for healthcare positions.
  • Source, screen, interview, and manage candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and staffing priorities.
  • Recruit for a variety of clinical and support positions, including nursing, imaging, allied health, environmental services, finance, and administrative roles.
  • Manage candidate pipelines and applicant tracking through Workday.
  • Deliver an outstanding candidate experience from first contact through onboarding.
  • Track recruiting metrics and identify opportunities to improve hiring outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment practices and healthcare hiring standards.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who understands healthcare recruiting and appreciates the unique culture of a community hospital.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare recruiting experience
  • Experience recruiting clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system (Workday preferred)
  • Experience recruiting within a union environment, preferably in New York, is highly desirable

Who Thrives Here

The recruiters who are most successful in this environment are:

  • Resourceful and creative when traditional recruiting methods aren't enough.
  • Relationship-driven and genuinely enjoy partnering with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Positive, resilient, and energized by challenging searches.
  • Team-oriented professionals who communicate openly and support one another.
  • Individuals who appreciate the close-knit, mission-focused culture of a community hospital where every hire truly matters.

If you're passionate about healthcare recruiting and want to join an organization where your work directly supports caregivers, patients, and the surrounding community, we'd love to hear from you.
