Medical Assistant Job Details

• Location: Chestnut Hill, MA 02467 (Chestnut Hill healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Urgent Care at a top Chestnut Hill hospital
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/14/2026)
• Schedule: 4 x 10-hour day shifts per week (9:00am–7:30pm or 9:30am–8:00pm)
• Hours: 40 hours per week (72 guaranteed hours biweekly)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Employment Type: Travel Contract (Locals accepted)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,010 - $1,090

Certified Medical Assistant Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in urgent care or emergency department settings
• Active Medical Assistant Certification (CMA)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
• Phlebotomy experience required
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (very heavy work: lifting over 100 pounds occasionally and/or 50 pounds continually)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Medical Assistant Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care including EKGs, vital signs, wound care, splinting, crutch walking, and daily living assistance
• Support providers in urgent care and assist patients with physical and psychological needs
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and point-of-care lab testing
• Document and communicate lab results promptly
• Maintain and stock medical, surgical, office supplies, and linen
• Clean and prepare medical equipment
• Conduct patient rounding and communicate regarding delays
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by clinic leadership to ensure optimal patient care
