- Work Hours: Shifts between 6:45am and 6:00pm; extended hours on Tuesdays until 8:00pm. Flexibility to stay beyond scheduled end time may be required to ensure all patients are seen.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a hospital or clinical setting
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential preferred
- Experience with EPIC EMR (electronic medical record) highly desirable
- Ability to learn quickly with minimal training and adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and patient-focused demeanor
- Willing to participate in a 4-hour virtual EMR training session (Fridays)
- Must be able to commute to the Philadelphia 19104 location within 30 minutes
- Compliance with onboarding requirements, including timely completion of medical and drug screening
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and practice managers in delivering patient-centered care as part of a multidisciplinary hospital team
- Prepare patients for examinations and clinical procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
- Conduct patient interviews, document medical histories, and update patient records in the EMR
- Perform technical tasks such as taking vital signs, phlebotomy, and administering basic point-of-care tests
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff to support a positive patient experience
- Support patient satisfaction and operational goals by managing patient flow and assisting with clinical workflows
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation and adhere to HIPAA and hospital policies; adapt to schedule changes and remain until patient care is complete
