Certified Nursing Assistant Job Requirements

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
  • At least 1 year of patient care experience preferred

  • Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and fulfill the scheduled weekly hours
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable attendance and a professional approach to patient care

Hospital CNA Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
  • Measure and document vital signs and report changes promptly to the nursing team
  • Support safe patient transfers, repositioning, ambulation, and fall-prevention measures
  • Provide clinical support during rapid response and changing patient care needs as directed by the nursing team
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive hospital patient care environment
  • Assist with patient observation and respond appropriately to changes in condition
  • Communicate effectively with nurses, providers, patients, and families
  • Follow hospital policies, infection-control practices, and patient-safety standards
