Job Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required (Louisiana or transferable per state guidelines)
• BLS certification required (AHA preferred; required for CIRH or as mandated by state)
• Minimum of 2 years bedside clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting
• Ability to work collaboratively with RNs and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Strong communication, organizational skills, and patient-focused clinical support

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care and assist with bedside nursing tasks under RN supervision
• Document care provided accurately in the patient record and support clinical documentation practices
• Promote patient and employee safety by following facility guidelines and Joint Commission standards
• Support patient nutrition services: assemble, deliver, and retrieve menus and trays according to prescribed diets
• Assist patients with menu selection while considering dietary restrictions and preferences and update diet changes in the patient menu system
• Communicate clinical and food service issues to the department and participate in interdisciplinary care coordination
• Perform clerical assignments in the Food & Nutrition office and maintain appropriate office/menu supplies as needed
• Attend departmental meetings and in-services; assist trayline, food service aides, or catering as required
• Adhere to HIPAA, infection control, and facility-specific safety policies
• Other duties as requested to support patient care and hospital operations
