Travel Surgical Technologist Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950–$2,100
  • Assignment Type: Travel surgical technologist assignment
  • Location: Everett, Washington
  • Start Date: October 26, 2026
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours per shift
  • Shift: Day shift, 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Call: At least 10 call shifts per month; call coverage may occur anytime between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
  • Weekends: 1–2 weekends per month required
  • Healthcare Setting: Level II Trauma Center with a high-volume cardiovascular and surgical program
  • Average Surgical Volume: Approximately 55 cases per day
  • Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics; adolescent experience is preferred
  • Float: General operating room support may be required

CVOR Surgical Technologist Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of recent surgical technologist experience; 2 years of experience is preferred
  • Current Washington state registration or eligibility to practice in Washington
  • Current BLS certification
  • NBSTSA certification or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred
  • Recent experience scrubbing cardiovascular and thoracic procedures in a CVOR or cardiothoracic operating room
  • Strong experience with general and laparoscopic surgery
  • Experience with flexible endoscope reprocessing; bronchoscope, EGD, or EBUS experience is preferred
  • Ability to work a minimum of 10 call shifts per month and 1–2 weekends per month
  • Adaptability, a collaborative approach, and willingness to learn and support general operating room assignments

CVOR Surgical Technologist Responsibilities

  • Perform independent scrub duties for cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical cases
  • Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, supplies, and case carts according to procedure requirements
  • Support CABG, aortic valve replacement, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, mitral valve replacement, minimally invasive valve procedures, VATS, mediastinoscopy, robotic thoracic procedures, and related cardiovascular cases
  • Provide support for central venous line procedures, carotid cutdowns, laser lead standby, and other specialized cardiothoracic services
  • Maintain sterile technique and participate in surgical counts, specimen handling, labeling, and universal protocol procedures
  • Assist with general and laparoscopic procedures when assigned to the general operating room
  • Care for and reprocess flexible endoscopes and fiber-optic equipment in accordance with established standards
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia professionals, and other members of the perioperative team
  • Provide dependable call and weekend coverage while maintaining readiness for emergent surgical needs
