- Floating: May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
Job Requirements
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) certification required
- At least 2 years of clinical dietitian experience required
- Pediatric experience strongly preferred
- Adult and pediatric clinical experience preferred
- Experience with Epic charting preferred
- Ability to support patients across the lifespan, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Valid state license preferred; pending license accepted
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
- Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
- References and certification documentation required prior to start
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments and reassessments for hospitalized patients
- Develop and update individualized nutrition care plans based on patient needs
- Provide guidance on therapeutic diets, calorie counts, and fluid/electrolyte management
- Support enteral nutrition (tube feedings), parenteral nutrition (PN/TPN), and related nutrition therapy needs
- Educate patients and families on nutrition strategies that promote recovery and long-term wellness
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to optimize outcomes
- Apply clinical judgment across a broad patient population, including pediatric and adult patients
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record and maintain timely communication with the care team
