Join a collaborative healthcare team as a Medical Assistant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, supporting physicians and clinical staff in an on-site hospital-based pulmonary practice. Medical Assistant Job Details

  • Job Type: 13-week travel medical assistant assignment
  • Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $900–$970
  • Start Date: November 9, 2026
  • End Date: February 7, 2027
  • Schedule: AM shift, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
  • Shifts: 5 shifts per week; 8 hours per shift; 40 hours per week
  • Healthcare Setting: On-site hospital and outpatient pulmonary clinic environment

Medical Assistant Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience providing medical assistance in a physician office, nursing facility, hospital, or outpatient healthcare setting
  • Graduation from a medical assistant program required; a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
  • Current certification or registration as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Proficiency obtaining vital signs, completing medication reconciliation, and documenting surgical and social histories
  • Strong organizational, communication, multitasking, and patient service skills
  • Ability to work effectively across clinical support, administrative, and patient care responsibilities

Medical Assistant Responsibilities

  • Greet, receive, and register patients in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Complete patient forms and accurately collect demographic and billing information
  • Prepare charts, update electronic medical records (EMRs), and support accurate clinical documentation
  • Obtain and record patient vital signs
  • Perform medication reconciliation and gather surgical and social history information
  • Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient procedures and daily patient flow
  • Schedule appointments and provide administrative and clerical support
  • Collect payments in accordance with established cash-handling procedures
  • Balance competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and compassionate patient care
  • Support other aligned clinical practices as needed based on skills and qualifications
