MRI Technologist Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent MRI Technologist or MRI Tech experience
- Current MRI Technologist certification
- Applicable Massachusetts license or certification verification, as required for practice
- Strong knowledge of MRI safety procedures, patient screening protocols, and contrast safety
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively during overnight hospital shifts
- Current resume, professional references, and completion of required competency verification
- Ability to complete facility-required credentialing, background screening, and health clearance processes
MRI Technologist Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic MRI examinations according to established imaging protocols and physician orders
- Screen patients for MRI contraindications, implants, medical history, and other safety concerns
- Prepare and position patients while providing clear instructions and compassionate, patient-centered support
- Administer contrast media when indicated and within the approved scope of practice
- Monitor patients throughout MRI procedures and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Ensure high-quality diagnostic images by selecting appropriate sequences, parameters, and positioning techniques
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow hospital imaging, MRI safety, and quality standards
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, technologists, and other members of the healthcare team
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe MRI environment, including adherence to equipment and emergency procedures
