PCT Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $660–$710
• Assignment Type: 14-week travel healthcare contract
• Location: Baltimore, Maryland
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 25, 2027
• Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM; 3 shifts per week
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based staffing float pool supporting a long-term acute care environment
• Floating: Assignments may vary across like units within the Patient Care Technician’s scope of practice
• Orientation: Tuesday through Friday on day shift; approximately 24 hours
• Scheduling Expectations: Open scheduling availability is required. Candidates must be prepared to work every other major holiday, with limited time-off approvals on high-demand dates.

Patient Care Technician Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of Patient Care Technician experience
• Acute care experience required; experience in a long-term acute care setting is helpful
• Patient Care Technician certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Basic EKG examination certification required
• CPCT/A certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner electronic documentation required
• Telemetry experience required
• Dialysis experience preferred
• Strong understanding of infection-control procedures, PPE, safe transfers, and patient privacy
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential

PCT Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care across assigned hospital units
• Obtain, document, and report vital signs, pulse oximetry readings, blood glucose results, and abnormal findings
• Perform 12-lead EKGs/ECGs, finger sticks, phlebotomy, and sterile specimen collection
• Assist with ambulation, feeding, bathing, hygiene, mouth care, toileting, and incontinence care
• Turn and reposition patients, apply antiembolic stockings, and maintain safe positioning
• Complete routine catheter care and collect urine and stool specimens
• Measure and record intake and output accurately
• Support safe patient transfers and transport using appropriate equipment, including specialty beds and lifts
• Change occupied and unoccupied linens and clean patient-care equipment
• Follow isolation precautions, use PPE correctly, and support infection-prevention standards
• Label and transport specimens according to established procedures
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the nursing team
• Perform CPR and respond appropriately to patient-care emergencies within training and scope
