Join an onsite hospital care team as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) supporting patients on a medical-surgical unit in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Patient Care Technician Job Details

- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Patient Care Technician Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of patient care experience, preferably in a hospital, inpatient, or medical-surgical setting
- Current Tennessee CNA license or recognized Patient Care Technician qualification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to follow RN or LPN/LVN direction and perform delegated patient care tasks safely
- Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and patient-service skills
- Ability to remain attentive and compassionate while supporting patients with varied care needs
Patient Care Technician Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, and repositioning
- Perform delegated patient care and clinical support tasks under the direct supervision of an RN or LPN/LVN
- Measure and document vital signs, intake and output, height, and weight accurately
- Perform blood glucose testing according to established hospital procedures
- Observe patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to the supervising nurse
- Maintain patient safety, dignity, comfort, and privacy throughout each interaction
- Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and current nursing-care practices
- Work collaboratively with nurses and the broader healthcare team to support quality patient outcomes on the medical-surgical unit
