- Location: Chesapeake, VA 23320 (Chesapeake, Virginia)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $3050–$3280 per week
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks – Travel Pharmacist / Inpatient Pharmacist job
- Hours per Week: 40
- Shifts: Evening and overnight shifts only (8-hour shifts). The majority of shifts will be day and/or evening, with a weekend rotation and occasional overnight shifts if needed. Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts per week.
- Shift Examples: Evening: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM; Overnight: 8:30 PM – 7:30 AM (Mon–Thurs), 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM (Fri–Sun)
- Start Date: March 23, 2026
- End Date: June 22, 2026
- Dress Code: Professional dress or hunter green scrubs (scrubs not provided)

Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; PharmD or RPh required (Pharmacist credential)
- Active Virginia (VA) or compact pharmacist license in hand at time of application (Chesapeake VA pharmacist jobs require license)
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required (inpatient pharmacist experience)
- EPIC charting experience required (EPIC clinical documentation and order entry)
- IV admixture/sterile compounding experience, pain control analgesia, antibiotic stewardship, drug interactions, order entry, and medication order verification required
- Chemo verification experience, anticoagulation management, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing preferred
- Previous travel pharmacy experience preferred (travel pharmacist assignments)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- No prior license or background issues
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care as an inpatient hospital pharmacist in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Prepare and dispense medications, including IV admixtures and controlled substances, following medication safety and compliance protocols
- Verify medication orders and ensure accuracy, appropriate dosing, and adherence to hospital policies
- Monitor for drug interactions and provide clinical recommendations to physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
- Support pain management, antibiotic stewardship, pharmacokinetic dosing, and renal dosing interventions
- Perform chemo and anticoagulant verification when required (if certified/qualified)
- Utilize EPIC for charting, order entry, and documentation of clinical interventions
- Participate in rotating shifts including evenings, overnights, and weekends as scheduled
