Travel Physical Therapist Jobs – Inpatient Acute Care in Fresno, California

Join a collaborative hospital rehabilitation team as an inpatient acute care Physical Therapist in Fresno, California. This 13-week travel physical therapy assignment offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through evidence-based treatment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient-centered care in a welcoming Central Valley community.

Travel Physical Therapist Job Details

  • Location: Fresno, California
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,990–$2,140
  • Assignment Dates: October 25, 2026 – January 23, 2027
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Healthcare Setting: Inpatient acute care hospital physical therapy
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week
  • Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
  • Typical Hours: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with one 10:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m. shift per week
  • Additional Coverage: One weekend per month and one holiday during the assignment
  • Electronic Medical Record: Epic experience preferred

Physical Therapist Job Requirements

  • Active California Physical Therapist license
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • At least 1 year of Physical Therapist experience in an inpatient acute care setting
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, case managers, and other interdisciplinary care team members
  • Epic documentation experience preferred

Inpatient Acute Care Physical Therapist Responsibilities

  • Evaluate hospital patients and develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans
  • Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence
  • Educate patients and caregivers on mobility techniques, exercise programs, safety precautions, and discharge recommendations
  • Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe and effective patient outcomes
  • Document physical therapy evaluations, treatment sessions, progress, and discharge planning accurately and promptly
  • Adjust treatment plans based on patient response, clinical status, and functional progress
  • Follow hospital policies, clinical standards, and applicable patient safety practices
