- Pay Rate: $105/hr
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,380–$2,550/week (based on 40 hours per week)
Travel Physical Therapist Job Details — Carlsbad, NM
- Location: Carlsbad, NM 88220 (Carlsbad, New Mexico travel PT job)
- Setting: Hospital — Inpatient & Outpatient (hospital physical therapist)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: April 13, 2026
- Shift: Days — Mon–Thurs 8:00am–6:00pm; Fri 8:00am–12:00pm; one Saturday/month
- Hours per Week: 40 (10-hour days)
- Scrub Color: Any
- EMR: MedHost (experience with MedHost EMR preferred)
Physical Therapist Qualifications (PT Requirements)
- 2+ years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) — inpatient and outpatient experience preferred
- Current New Mexico Physical Therapy license required (pending licensure accepted with submission)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers
- Experience with hospital-based rehabilitation, musculoskeletal and mobility-focused care preferred
Travel Physical Therapist Responsibilities
- Examine patients and develop individualized treatment plans to promote mobility, reduce pain, and restore function
- Provide hands-on care and therapeutic interventions in both inpatient and outpatient hospital units
- Educate patients and families on prevention, home exercise programs, and long-term condition management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, physicians, OT, speech) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Develop and lead fitness, balance, and wellness programs to prevent loss of mobility
- Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress using MedHost EMR in accordance with hospital policies
