Travel Physical Therapist (PT) – Carlsbad, NM | 13-week hospital contract providing inpatient & outpatient rehabilitation. Join our healthcare team delivering patient-centered physical therapy and rehabilitation services in southeastern New Mexico.

- Location: Carlsbad, NM 88220 (Carlsbad Caverns area)
- Position: Travel Physical Therapist (PT), Hospital – Inpatient & Outpatient
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,380 - $2,550
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 13, 2026)
- Shift: Days – Mon–Thurs 8:00am–6:00pm; Fri 8:00am–12:00pm; one Saturday/month
- Hours per Week: 40 (10-hour days)
- Employment Type: Travel / On-site
- EMR: MedHost (experience preferred)
- Scrub Color: Any
Who We’re Looking For
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Current New Mexico PT licensure required (pending licensure accepted with submission)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with MedHost EMR or similar electronic medical record systems
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment and discharge plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function
- Provide skilled physical therapy interventions across inpatient units and outpatient clinics, including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait training, and balance/fall prevention
- Educate patients and families on condition management, home exercise programs, and long-term wellness
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in MedHost EMR and adhere to hospital policies and quality initiatives
- Participate in hospital wellness programs and contribute to department performance and patient satisfaction goals
