Physical Therapy Rehab Aide Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of relevant healthcare, rehabilitation, therapy aide, rehabilitation technician, or patient support experience
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience with safe patient transfers and maintaining a safe treatment environment
  • Ability to clean, organize, and prepare physical therapy and rehabilitation equipment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with physical, occupational, and speech therapy professionals
  • Comfort working with patients across the lifespan, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
  • Epic experience is highly preferred

Physical Therapy Rehab Aide Responsibilities

  • Assist therapy staff with daily outpatient clinic operations, patient flow, and clinical support activities
  • Support safe patient transfers and positioning under the direction of physical, occupational, and speech therapy professionals
  • Clean, sanitize, organize, and prepare rehabilitation equipment and treatment areas
  • Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment for patients and staff
  • Use and help maintain rehabilitation equipment such as parallel bars, treadmills, stationary bikes, NuSteps, standing frames, LiteGait, Golvo systems, stairs, ramps, exercise balls, and mat tables
  • Assist with patient support needs while demonstrating professionalism, patience, and appropriate de-escalation techniques
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to support quality patient care
