Job Details — Travel PT / Outpatient Physical Therapy
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,080 - $2,230 (competitive travel PT pay)
- Location: Santa Fe, NM 87505 — Physical therapist jobs in Santa Fe, New Mexico
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 9, 2026)
- Shift: 8-hour days (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), Monday–Friday
- Hours per Week: 40

Qualifications — Physical Therapist (PT) Requirements
- Current New Mexico Physical Therapist licensure (NM PT license required for travel PT)
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Doctorate, Master’s, Bachelor’s, or Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist; hospital or outpatient experience preferred (outpatient PT experience a plus)
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for patient-centered care
- Demonstrated accountability in assessment/evaluation, clinical decision-making, and time management
- Familiarity with therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, e-stim), gait and balance training, and functional mobility interventions
Key Responsibilities — Outpatient PT Duties
- Assess and treat neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory conditions to restore function, reduce pain, and promote mobility per physician referrals
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized plans of care and measurable goals for outpatient physical therapy patients
- Perform and direct administration of physical therapy modalities and therapeutic interventions, including therapeutic exercise, hot moist packs, cryotherapy, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation
- Provide gait, balance, and functional mobility training; supervise gait training devices and adaptive equipment
- Verify physician orders, evaluate patients prior to treatment, and document clinical findings and progress accurately in the medical record
- Collaborate with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Supervise and direct PT Assistants and Rehabilitation Assistants during therapy sessions
- Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and continuing education to maintain clinical competence and meet credentialing requirements
