Physical Therapist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,080–$2,230
• Assignment Type: 13-week home health travel contract
• Start Date: November 30, 2026
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Shift Duration: 8-hour days
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Healthcare Setting: Home health rehabilitation
• Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Average Daily Census: Approximately 6 units
• Coverage Area: Cherokee, Spartanburg, Union, and a small portion of Greenville counties
• On-Call: Not required
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Travel Requirement: Local travel throughout the assigned territory; mileage is paid

Home Health Physical Therapist Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional Physical Therapist experience; previous home health physical therapy experience is required
• Current Physical Therapist license in South Carolina, or a pending license with the ability to obtain licensure before the start date
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to provide safe, independent skilled physical therapy care in patients’ homes
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel throughout the coverage area
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and clinical documentation skills
• Travel assignment eligibility requires residence at least 75 miles from the assignment location

Physical Therapist Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in the home setting and develop individualized physical therapy plans of care
• Provide skilled physical therapy interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional independence
• Assess patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, fall prevention, and home safety
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation and communicate changes in patient condition
• Manage a daily schedule of home visits while maintaining high standards of patient care
• Provide coverage within the Physical Therapist scope of practice to meet patient-care needs
