Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) travel assignment in Albany, Georgia for an experienced adult critical care respiratory therapist. Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC
  • Current Georgia Respiratory Therapist license
  • At least 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, including adult critical care
  • At least 1 previous travel respiratory therapy assignment
  • Experience in a hospital environment with 300 or more beds preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency with adult mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
  • Confidence performing or assisting with emergency intubation and advanced airway management
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Ability to interpret arterial blood gases, recognize critical values, and communicate recommendations regarding ventilator management
  • Applicants must meet the assignment's 75-mile radius requirement

Adult Critical Care Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult patients across inpatient and critical care units
  • Manage mechanical ventilators, including Servo ventilator systems, and support patients with acute respiratory failure and ARDS
  • Perform airway management and participate in emergency intubations as the first-line respiratory clinician during critical events
  • Administer nebulizer treatments and provide care using Vapotherm, BiPAP, CPAP, heated aerosol, and other respiratory therapies
  • Collect and interpret arterial blood gases and promptly escalate critical findings
  • Perform bedside pulmonary function testing, chest physiotherapy, bronchial hygiene, and related respiratory procedures
  • Support intensive care patients with ventilators, tracheostomies, and other complex airway needs
  • Place arterial lines in the ICU after facility-specific training and competency validation
  • Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, nurses, physicians, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team
  • Provide safe, efficient care in a high-volume environment while managing multiple patient assignments
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in MEDITECH
  • Participate in rotating holiday coverage with the permanent staff
